Omaha Hi
Omaha Hi (often just called Omaha) follows the same basic rules as Texas Hold’em, with these differences:
Instead of two cards being dealt, a player is dealt 4 cards face down.
A player must use two, and only two, hole cards. The player must use three community cards to make the best possible five card hand. This is the most confusing rule of Omaha. For example, if you are dealt JJJJ and the board is A A 4 10 6, you do not have four of a kind, you have two pair, aces and jacks with a 10 kicker. If you have 3 of once suit in your hole cards, you can only use two cards of that suit to make a flush, etc.
Unlike Hold’em, which is commonly played in limit, pot-limit and no-limit variations, Omaha Hi, with very few exceptions, is pot-limit.
The rounds of betting, the flop and the procedure for dealing cards is identical to Texas Hold’em.
